Summer Fieldwork

Kaufman Lab students support the Wisconsin Farmers Market Association with data collection at 15 farmers markets across the state. The team conducts visitor counts, collected visitor surveys, and met with market vendors to showcase their unique market products.

Farm to School Month

The Farm2Facts Team enjoyed participating in National Farm to School Month in October. To celebrate local produce and its community benefits, team members gathered at Troy Farms for their Great Apple Crunch event, helping to pick and press fresh apples for “the Crunch heard around the region”.

Southern Piedmont Climate Smart Project (SPCSP)

We began working with the Rodale Institute and additional partners on this multi-disciplinary project that brings together organic and conventional farmers, non-profit agricultural organizations, and public, private, and historically Black colleges and universities to measure and promote climate smart commodities.

The Kaufman Lab joined the longstanding Wisconsin Idea partnership between the Department of Planning and Landscape and statewide school and nonprofit, governmental, and community partners to support the growing Wisconsin School Garden Network.
