Jon Warner

Jon Warner is a first-year PhD student in Urban and Regional Planning, where his research focuses on creating reality-based and sustainable community economic development tools and models for Indian Country. He brings several decades of experience in strategic planning, tribal governance, and business development. His practical experiences include leadership roles within the Ho-Chunk Nation, various municipalities, private consulting firms, and tribal governments across the U.S.

Jon earned his bachelor’s degree in Tribal Administration and Policies from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, and a master’s in Tribal Administration and Governance from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. He has remained committed to empowering Indigenous communities through inclusive policy, culturally informed planning, and collaborative ventures with local governments.
