Siming Li

Siming Li is a PhD student in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Wisconsin–Madison (Fall 2024 cohort). She holds dual B.A. degrees in Human Geography and Urban Planning from Ningbo University (China) and the University of Angers (France), and an M.Sc. in Built Environment from University College London (UK).

Siming’s research focuses on heritage conservation and sustainable planning, with a particular emphasis on comparative policies across China, Europe, and the United States. She is especially interested in how historic districts can be integrated into contemporary urban development through adaptive reuse of museums, the growth of digital heritage, and their intersections with heritage tourism, aiming to foster innovative approaches to sustainable heritage governance.
