Ed is teaching courses in GIS and GeoDesign. As an environmental soil scientist, Ed is interested in over-winter soil processes, urban soils, water quality issues in agricultural landscapes, and the application of GIS/GeoDesign to environmental and land use issues. Most recently, Ed designed a new professional Master’s degree in Environmental Remediation and Management at UW-Madison (planned launch in Fall 2021) that will train students in the investigation, assessment, and remediation of contaminated sites to improve the human, ecological, and economic health of urban areas. Ed earned his Ph.D. in Soil Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an M.S. in Horticulture, and a B.S. in Biology from Penn State University.
