J has been practicing landscape architecture for more than 20 years. He is a licensed, practicing landscape architect and a field ecologist. His work has included national and international private, public, small and large projects. He is a national leader in the application of ecological design principles. He was Coauthor of the Sustainable Sites Initiative (SITES), the Sustainable Sites Handbook, and subject matter expert for the SITES AP exam. J teaches advanced graphics focusing on helping students develop the skills needed to prepare presentation-ready graphics for the professional workplace. In addition to teaching, J is currently in practice with Smith Group.
