Brian Wiedenfeld

Brian is a first-year Master’s student in the Urban and Regional Planning program from Menomonee Falls, WI. With a Bachelor’s (2021) in Agricultural and Applied Economics and certificate in Food Systems at UW–Madison, Brian hopes to build on this existing knowledge and is eager to develop a greater understanding of the planning process. Brian has spent time with the Wisconsin DOT, Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, and in various research assistant roles on campus, including with Prof. Alfonso Morales on the Farm 2 Facts project. This summer he held a research assistant position with Hochschule Osnabrück in Osnabrück, Germany, studying climate resilient turfgrass solutions for public green spaces. He has interests in community development, ecological planning, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). In his free time, Brian can be found running with the Wisconsin Track Club, a competitive running club here on campus. He also likes to cook, garden, read (when he has time), and spend time with family and friends.
