Collin Mieras is a first-year master’s student pursuing a degree in Urban and Regional Planning. Collin graduated from Arizona State University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sustainability and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography. His most recent work includes an internship with the City of Brainerd Community Development Department, where he served as the Planning Intern for the summer of 2019. His work for the City of Brainerd included conducting the city’s first greenhouse gas emissions inventory, conducting and drafting a parking occupancy study of the downtown district, as well as assisting the Planning Commission with the rewrite of the City Zoning Ordinances.

Collin is currently working as a Project Assistant for the Department of Planning and Landscape Architecture. His interests in urban planning include urban design, parking policy, and active transportation planning. In his free time, Collin enjoys staying active and exploring the outdoors through paddleboarding, hiking and backpacking as well as swerving through Madison traffic on his bike.
