Alex DeSena

Alex DeSena (she/her) is a Master of Public Affairs and Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning dual degree student. She is originally from Los Angeles, CA but moved to the Midwest to attend Cornell College in Iowa. After graduating with a BA in Sociology and minor in Gender and Sexuality Studies in 2017, Alex moved to Madison and began working in homeless services. She worked at Briarpatch Youth Services as a Street Outreach Specialist and case manager for youth and young adults experiencing homelessness in Dane County. Currently, she works for The Institute for Community Alliances which manages Wisconsin’s Homeless Management Information Services (HMIS) database. Alex is eager to pursue her interests in housing policy, community development and economic justice at UW-Madison. She also enjoys trying new local restaurants, trips to the dog park with her puppy, playing games, and visiting friends and family.
