Rachel Cefalu is a first-year master’s student pursuing a degree in Urban and Regional Planning. Rachel completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2015 in Environmental Sciences. Since graduating, she has worked for Verona Public Works as a GIS Technician where she collected spatial data and mapped the city’s stormwater system.
Rachel gained a vested interest in Urban and Regional Planning at her current position. She is employed as a Land Records Technician for Dane County Planning and Development where manages parcel data for their sweeping Re-monumentation project. She hopes to gain deeper knowledge in natural resource planning, hazard mitigation, and GIS for further work in the public realm.
In her spare time, Rachel enjoys exploring state parks with her corgi, reading, and disc-golfing.
