Michael Caruso
After 25 years in the Commercial Landscape Maintenance industry, Mike entered UW-M’s Restoration Ecology program to learn new methods for old problems. Wetland systems have always fascinated Mike, and his travel for surf has taken him throughout central America and Carribean mangrove ecosystems. Having finished all the fieldwork on his research project, Mike is currently writing his thesis at a snail’s pace. When he’s not struggling to put words on paper Mike can be found tending to his collection of carnivorous plants, surfing, and wondering if any of his mangrove seedlings will make it to maturity.
