Eyad Afifi is a second-year graduate student and Fulbright scholar from Cairo, Egypt, pursuing a degree in Urban and Regional Planning. Eyad completed his undergraduate program at American University in Cairo, in Spring of 2018, where he majored in Architectural Engineering. Since then, he has worked on several major building projects in Egypt as a Conceptual Design architect, and also as a teaching assistant to his former alma mater and for the Arab Academy for Science Technology and Maritime Transportation. Eyad is currently in the process of establishing his own design studio, which focuses on producing creative solutions that redefine spatial enclosures in the public realm while maximizing their efficiency. In planning, Eyad is most interested in Urban & Real Estate Development, City Planning, and Spatial Design. Apart from this, his interests include fashion and design criticism, traveling, and blogging.
