MS URPL Workshop mentioned in Inside UW Madison
Inside UW-Madison picked up the Sauk Prairie Eagle story about a workshop project involving students in our department and UW alumnus and certified planner Mark Roffers. The students are helping the communities of Sauk City and Prairie du Sac, who have made a commitment, to revitalize Water Street, the main thoroughfare connecting the two communities along the Wisconsin River with an emphasis on making Sauk Prairie a better place to live and furthering a higher quality of life. Students are working with community leaders, residents, and stakeholders to enhance Sauk Prairie area's advantages. Dave Marcouiller was interviewed for the article in which he stated, "This looked to be a good opportunity to get the students involved. It provides a service to the community and is a great opportunity. It's a capstone project for the students to get real world experience in planning." Alan Wildman, Prairie du Sac Village Administrator. said that this will be a learning experience for both the community and for the students.
