The Humanities Grant Writing Camp is hosted in collaboration by the Writing Center, the Institute for Research in Humanities, and the Graduate School. This four-day camp (Monday, May 19 – Thursday, May 22) provides participants with a structured introduction to the nuts and bolts of writing funding proposals to support a wide range of humanities work, from research travel and dissertation writing to public humanities projects. Eligibility criteria include enrollment in a UW–Madison graduate program in the humanities or humanistic social sciences.

The Dissertation Writing Camp is hosted by the Graduate School and facilitated by senior Writing Center staff. It is a week-long camp (Monday, May 19 – Friday, May 23) providing participants from all disciplines intensive, focused time to write and revise their dissertation chapters in a supportive atmosphere alongside other writers. Those selected to participate will have multiple opportunities to share writing goals, experiment with various writing strategies, and receive feedback on their work. Eligibility criteria include enrollment in a UW–Madison doctoral program and having achieved dissertator status.
