SKILLS REQUIRED – Land Use Planner
- Learn and apply knowledge of land development regulations governing planning in the State of Florida.
- Demonstrate computer skills, including proficiency in productivity applications such as Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF and Outlook.
- Draft justification statements and prepare entitlement applications.
- Research documents, codes and ordinances as necessary for planning production.
- Experience with reading and understanding maps.
- Make deliveries of submittal items to various municipalities.
- Work alongside landscape architects and site planners to develop plans conforming to land development regulations.
- Effectively work with team, governmental staff, clients, and private sector consultants to resolve site planning issues.
- Plus, other responsibilities related to the position.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS – Land Use Planner
- A bachelor’s degree with a major in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Environmental, Political Science, Journalism, Public Relations, Interior Design is preferred and AICP eligibility within 7 years is highly desirable.
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License
