Seeking full- or part-time graduate or highly qualified undergraduate interns to join our growing group and to conduct research related to conventional and advanced powertrain modeling/simulation, and related analysis of transportation data and energy/carbon emissions. Relevant technologies to model and analyze include plug-in electric vehicles (plug-in hybrid and battery electric), alongside conventional, hybrid, and fuel cell vehicles. Applications of interest span light-duty personal vehicles to medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles. Assessment of connected / automated vehicles and alternative mobility paradigms to traditional car ownership are also of interest. Additional activities may include:
- Building, enhancing, and validating modeling and simulation tools.
- Working with external collaborators to develop tools/capabilities and insights.
- Examining the interactions between availability of supporting infrastructure and component materials for advanced vehicles, and consumer preferences for those vehicles.
- Working with large datasets, including acquiring data, performing quality control, analyzing, and producing visualizations.
- Translating results into effective and influential communication products and tools tailored to client requests and audience requirements.
- Producing high-quality publications, reports, and research proposals.
- Supporting additional related research projects as needed.
