Building Safety and Zoning-Zoning and Floodplain Administrator – City of Watertown

The Building Safety and Zoning Department is looking for leadership excellence in the City of Watertown! The Zoning and Floodplain Administrator will be guiding communication and collaboration of using ordinances and floodplain management as development continues throughout the city! This individual will be a key asset in coordinating with the shareholders of the city the regulatory processes of development.

This individual will report directly to the Director of Public Works/City Engineer, this professional and supervisory position duties involve the management, coordination, short and long-term planning, and organization of the Building, Safety, & Zoning Division to provide administration of zoning and subdivision regulations. This position will possess previous experience with significant development projects. Experience and knowledge of floodplain management a must. Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) preferred. Successful candidate must obtain CFM within the first eighteen months of employment. The ability to work with a diverse range of people including city staff, elected officials, contractors, and the public is a must.
