2020 Summer Research Intern

The Wisconsin Policy Forum is seeking applications for graduate or undergraduate research interns for Summer 2020. The Interns will support research that is directly relevant to key public policy issues confronting local and state government bodies and agencies throughout Wisconsin.

Role of the intern

The Forum’s main research portfolios include education, government finance, and economic and workforce development. Throughout the summer, interns will be immersed in the research and analysis process, helping to develop research products using qualitative and quantitative methods.

While they are with us, interns are considered members of the WPF team, are supervised and guided by senior staff, and have opportunities to participate in WPF functions, attend staff meetings, and draw upon WPF’s network and expertise.

What we are looking for

Strong candidates will be current undergraduate or graduate students who are pursuing degrees in public policy, public administration, urban planning, economics, law, political science, urban geography, or a related field. Excel skills and experience required. Strong writing skills preferred.

The Wisconsin Policy Forum is an equal opportunity employer, committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Application process

Candidates should submit a resume and cover letter expressing their interest in the position. The application deadline is March 6, 2020. Finalists will be invited to interview in person or remotely as schedules and logistics allow. Interns will be selected and notified no later than April 3, 2020.

Paid and unpaid opportunities are available, depending on experience and qualifications. Flexible hours and scheduling also are available.
