Master’s student Ken Smith has had a commentary published on the website Urban Milwaukee titled “Why Amazon Should Pick Milwaukee”. His commentary is response to a recent announcement made by Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos that the company was looking to build a second North American headquarters.
In his article, Smith makes a case for why Amazon should build in Amazon. Smith begins by describing how many Wisconsin graduates tend to leave the state. The Universities of Marquette, UW-Milwaukee, and UW-Madison are strong in producing information technology graduates. Amazon could have the potential to keep more students here.
Smith continues to explain Milwaukee’s proximity to O’Hare airport and to Chicago in general. He also describes all of the amenities Milwaukee provides as well as having a lower cost of living and lower taxes.
